Announcement Board
A digital announcement board for teams, schools, and gyms
Festaboard turns any TV, tablet, or monitor into a digital announcement board — a living notice board screen for welcome messages, shout-outs, reminders, and standup notes. You update it from any browser and it flips into place on the wall.
Why a digital announcement board beats a printed notice
A printed notice goes stale the moment something changes, and nobody walks over to read the same sheet twice. A digital announcement board stays current because you edit it from your desk, and the split-flap flip catches the eye every time the message changes. Festaboard gives you the retro Vestaboard-style look — a 6-row by 22-column grid of 132 mechanical-style tiles — without buying any hardware.
Because it is a free browser web app, the same board can live on a lobby TV, a break-room monitor, or a tablet by the door. There is nothing to print, laminate, or reprint, and no subscription to renew.
A message board for teams: standups, shout-outs, reminders
Run it as a standup board that shows the day's focus, the current blocker, or who is on call. Post a shout-out when someone ships, or a reminder about the all-hands at 3. The 132 tiles hold one short, punchy line — which is the point, since a board people glance at in passing should say a single thing clearly.
Per-cell color tiles help the message land. Set a name in green, an urgent notice in red, or frame a welcome message in blue. You have white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple to work with, plus five themes including Classic Amber and Terminal Green.
Update the announcement display from any browser
Sign in with your email and a one-time code — no password to remember — and edit the board from the dashboard. Whatever you type flips onto the connected screen. If the display is running in kiosk mode, your edit reaches it in about a second, with no reload and nobody touching the TV.
That makes the announcement display genuinely low-maintenance. Set the screen up once in a hallway, then run it from your laptop or phone for the rest of the term or the year.
Show the notice board screen fullscreen on a hallway TV
Press F and the site chrome disappears, leaving only the grid — a clean notice board screen showing nothing but your message. For a permanent install, open the public share link with ?kiosk=1 appended. Kiosk mode holds a screen Wake Lock so the display never sleeps, starts muted with low-motion animation, and auto-reloads to recover if the tab has been hidden for a long stretch.
It runs on cheap hardware you probably already have: a smart TV browser, an old tablet, or a Raspberry Pi from a Pi 3A with 512MB of RAM up to a Pi 5. On very low-power devices, add ?anim=off so text swaps instantly instead of animating.
Rotate between several announcements automatically
One screen can carry more than one message. Save extra slides and, in fullscreen, cycle between your main board and those slides on an interval you pick — anywhere from 5 minutes up to 120 minutes. A lobby board can rotate a welcome message, this week's shout-outs, and the lunch reminder without anyone touching it.
What makes it a practical announcement board
A 6-row by 22-column grid, the same layout as a physical split-flap board. Type welcome messages, reminders, standup notes, or a shout-out.
Set any cell to white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, or purple to frame a name or flag an urgent notice at a glance.
Press F to hide all site chrome so a hallway TV or lobby monitor shows only the board.
Cycle between your main board and saved slides on an interval from 5 up to 120 minutes, hands-free.
Toggle public sharing for a festaboard.com/b/<token> URL that anyone can open with no account.
Add ?kiosk=1 for a display that holds a Wake Lock so it never sleeps and picks up your edits in about a second.
Frequently asked questions
How do I update the announcement board remotely?
Sign in on any browser, edit the board on the dashboard, and the change flips onto the screen. If the display is running in kiosk mode, it updates in about a second with no reload and no one at the TV.
Can I put it on a TV in the hallway?
Yes. Press F for fullscreen so only the 6x22 grid shows, or open the public share link with ?kiosk=1 on a smart TV or Raspberry Pi. Kiosk mode holds a Wake Lock so the display stays on.
Do viewers need an account to see the board?
No. Turn on public sharing to get a read-only festaboard.com/b/<token> link that anyone can open. Only you need to sign in to edit, using your email and a one-time code.
Can it rotate between several announcements?
Yes. In fullscreen you can cycle between your main board and extra saved slides on an interval you choose, from 5 minutes up to 120 minutes. It is a simple way to show a welcome message, shout-outs, and a reminder in turn.
Will it run on a cheap display?
Yes. It runs in any browser on laptops, tablets, smart TVs, and single-board computers like a Raspberry Pi, from a Pi 3A with 512MB of RAM up to a Pi 5. On very low-power devices add ?anim=off for instant text swaps.
How much does Festaboard cost?
It is free. No hardware is required for the core experience and there is no subscription. You can also install it as a PWA and add it to your home screen.
